2, to ensure the quality of insulating oil: transformer insulation oil in storage, transportation or operation and maintenance, if the oil is poor or impurities, excessive water, will reduce the insulation strength. When the insulation strength is reduced to a certain value, the transformer will short-circuit and cause sparks, arcs or dangerous temperatures. 3, to prevent transformer core insulation aging damage: iron core insulation aging or clamping bolt sleeve damage, so that the iron core produces a large eddy current, causing the iron core to cause long-term heat insulation aging.

4, to prevent accidental damage to repair insulation: Transformer maintenance when hanging core, pay attention to the protection of the coil or insulation sleeve, if found to have scratch damage, should be promptly dealt with.

5, to ensure good contact between the wire: bad inner contact of the coil, the connection point between the coils, the contact point leading to the high and low side bushings, and the poor contact between the fulcrum points on the tap changer, will cause local overheating, damage insulation, and short circuit Or open circuit. The high-temperature arc generated at this time will decompose the insulating oil, generate a large amount of gas, and increase the pressure in the transformer. When the pressure exceeds the gas breaker protection setting without tripping, an explosion will occur.

6, to prevent electric shock: power transformers generally come from overhead lines, and overhead lines are vulnerable to lightning strikes, transformers will be destroyed due to breakdown of insulation.

7. Short-circuit protection must be reliable: Transformer coil or load short circuit, the transformer will withstand a considerable short-circuit current, if the protection system fails or the protection setting is too large, it is possible to burn the transformer. For this reason, a reliable short-circuit protection device must be installed.

8. Maintain a good grounding: For low-voltage systems that use protective zero-crossing, the neutral point on the low-voltage side of the transformer must be directly grounded. When the three-phase load is unbalanced, current will appear on the zero line. When this current is too large and the contact resistance is large, a high temperature appears at the grounding point and ignites the surrounding flammable substances.

9, to prevent over-temperature: transformer operation should monitor the temperature changes. If the transformer coil wire is Class A insulation, its insulation is mainly paper and cotton yarn, and the temperature has great influence on the insulation and service life. When the temperature rises by 8°C, the insulation life must be reduced by about 50%. The transformer operates at normal temperature (90 °C) and has a lifetime of about 20 years. If the temperature rises to 105 °C, the life expectancy is 7 years. 5 The temperature rises to 120 °C. The service life is only two years. Therefore, when the transformer is running, it must maintain good ventilation and cooling, and if necessary, it can take forced ventilation to achieve the purpose of reducing the temperature rise of the transformer.
