The shielded chip inductor is the magnetic shield chip inductor we introduced earlier. It works fine with the non-shielded SMD inductor. The shielding SMD inductor can shield the instability of the current in some circuits, and it acts as a good barrier. We can often find the one-piece inductor, most of the power inductors of the chip, but all those who can not directly see the winding coil, are basically shielded chip inductors.


Shielded SMD inductors have a complete metal shield, which can be surrounded by a positive electrical conductor. In the inside of the shield will be induced with the same amount of negative charge with the charged conductor, the outer appearance of the same amount of positive charge with the charged conductor, if When the metal shield is grounded, the positive charges on the outside will flow into the ground, and there will be no electric field on the outside. That is, the electric field with a positive electrical conductor is shielded in the metal shield.

 

The shielded inductor also plays a role in reducing the coupling interference in the circuit. The shield chip inductor reduces the coupling interference voltage of the alternating electric field to the sensitive circuit, and the inductor can be provided with a conductive metal shield body between the interference source and the sensitive circuit. And ground the metal shield.


The coupling interference voltage of the alternating electric field to the sensitive circuit depends on the product of the alternating electric field voltage, the coupling capacitance, and the metal shield grounding resistance. As long as the metal shield is tried to be well grounded, the coupling interference voltage of the alternating electric field to the sensitive circuit can be made very small. The electric field shielding is mainly based on reflection, so the thickness of the shielding body does not have to be too large, and the structural strength is the main consideration.
